Japanese Pokémon Search Terms
A lot of the BEST collectors in the Pokemon card collecting hobby purchase a lot of their Pokemon cards/slabs & related products directly from Japan. The reason being is simple — it is typically cheaper and you have a lot better chance of running into a lot of the more rare/niche items in the hobby.
I created this website/guide to help aid other collectors in our hobby with buying Pokemon product straight from Japan with the goal of making it a very easy and straightforward process. Please note: there is no financial incentive for me to do this or for you to click on any of the various links found below.
I primarily use the website “Buyee” for purchasing items directly from Japan — Buyee is a proxy shopping service that lets you bid and purchase Japanese products online. They buy the product on your behalf and deliver to your address.(Their customer base is mainly overseas.) Using this method, you can actually buy multiple items at a time, and have them combine them for shipping once they all arrive to their Buyee warehouse. The purchaser will get an email from buyee when any item you purchase arrives to them. They also allow for a timeframe of 30 days for you to buy as many items as you want and ship them all together to wherever in the world you live. I strongly encourage doing this option, as well as ALWAYS adding packaging protection when using them.
Below, you will find different common Pokemon “search terms” that I have already translated from English to Japanese for you. I will list everything with the english word first, then Japanese translation , and then links to BOTH “Yahoo Japan” (Shortened to YJ) and “Mercari” for you to be able shop around on Japanese websites like a pro. I will update this guide periodically, however, if you would like for me to add any new search terms, please DM me on IG and I will add whatever you like. My favorite translator that I use online for translating Japanese to English is a website named “deepl”
Enjoy Pokemon grail hunting everyone!
